GLBT Pride Parade Surprise

well folks, my first glbt pride parade was a blast!

my hands are sore from all the clapping and my voice is hoarse from all the cheering.

i clapped so much that i bent my silver celtic ring on my left hand...ouch!!

Well folks, my first GLBT Pride Parade was a blast! My hands are sore from all the clapping and my voice is hoarse from all the cheering. I clapped so much that I bent my silver Celtic ring on my left hand...OUCH!! It was a real bitch to get off! I came home with lots of goodies too. All in all I had a great time!!

The surprise of the evening was when I saw one of my JW exboyfriends marching in the parade! That's right, my exboyfriend. We dated in field service 10years ago. I yelled out his name as he passed by. When he turned around he stared at me for a few seconds with an almost scared look on his face....kind of like, 'oh no, it's a JW.' Then this huge smile and he ran over to hug me...guess he realized that if I was at the Gay Pride Parade I must not be a JW anymore.

Now I know where to find him so we can get together and catch up on what has happened in the past decade. I wondered all those years ago if he was gay and now I know! Wow, what a surprise!!

So, for all of you who went to your pride parades, how'd it go? Anything interesting happen??

Watchtower Society no longer contact? Why?

i noticed that in september 2001 there was a change in the contact adress in the jw literature.. for example, awake!

september 8th, 2001 says on page 5: would you welcome more information?

write watch tower at the appropriate adress.

It was speculated in my old cong that one of the reasons they stopped the subs is so that incase the Great Trib started, there would be no way for the governments to find all the dubs. Think about it, subscription lists have every name and address of every dub in the world....no list, less persecution for the dubs when the GT breaks out.

Zenpunk, I used to be one of those militant lesbians who would shout "make up your mind and stop riding the fence!" But I'm not like that anymore. I've given up being judgemental since my dub days. today is 9 years since i made my stand against the oppression.

in celebration, i offer my favourite song by sloan (for you non-canucks, a great canadian band from halifax, nova scotia).

i sing this song at the top of my lungs when it comes on the radio, because i know how much my father would hate it.

Any ex-annointed ones here or know of any?

in all seriousness, i would like to know from anybody in this forum if anybody on here had ever experienced such an "annointing".

even though i do not believe in the tower and its teachings for a couple of years now, i would always question the supposed "feelings" an "annointed" person was suupposed to have.

in light of younger people claiming to be of this "annointed class" in recent years, i question their motive and all of those that were older which were most likely "annointed'".. thanks
